TikTok is a great hub for comedy. A number of the challenges and viral hashtags that arise on the platform each year are dedicated to comedy, and the nature of the platform – short-form video content that is, by its very nature, ephemeral – lends itself well to comedy. After all, consuming short comedy skits is the perfect way to make sure no joke overstays its welcome. Sorting the comedy gold from the comedy also-rans on TikTok isn’t easy, however, which is where we come in. Here are the funniest content creators you can follow right now on TikTok. You’ll need a profile if you want to follow people, so be sure to sign up before you start checking these channels out.
Jason Derulo (@jasonderulo)

There was always something vaguely clownish about Derulo and his ridiculous self-announcement at the start of every song. That’s why his TikTok channel being hilarious probably shouldn’t be unexpected. If you like videos of everyday dog fails (and successes), not to mention plenty of viral dance challenges and hashtag videos, then Jason Derulo’s TikTok channel is where you should start. His videos are great fun and he’s got a strong sense of self-deprecation, too.
Lizzo (@lizzo)

Lizzo is another personality on TikTok who knows exactly how to poke fun at herself without bringing herself down. She doesn’t necessarily focus on comedy, but her blend of self-empowerment, fashion tips, and music insight is just as funny and relatable as some dedicated comedy channels are. We’re not sure Lizzo even has any haters left at this point, because everyone must love her as much as we do, but if she does then her TikTok should convert them.
Spencer X (@spencerx)

Spencer X’s irresistible combination of beatboxing skill and comedy nous should put a smile on your face no matter what kind of a day you’re having. He brings excellent beatbox challenges to his channel, and his skills are seriously impressive, but it’s his viral comedy content that really impresses. Whether it’s moment-to-moment observational comedy about his life and his friends or beatboxing fails, Spencer X’s channel is one to watch if you love to laugh.
Allison Ponthier (@allisonponthier)

If you love impressions, then Allison Ponthier is your gal. Her TikTok is an absolute treasure trove of dorky comedy that emphasises Ponthier’s razor-sharp observational skills and her love of popular culture. She’s done great send-ups of famous properties like cult horror Midsommar and sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror. All this plus some pretty excellent musical challenges means that if Allison Ponthier isn’t already on your follow list, she should be.
Justin Bieber (@justinbieber)

We know, we know…you’re probably already full of vitriol towards Justin Bieber, and it’s true; he’s an easy target. That’s what makes the fact that his TikTok is brilliant and often hilarious all the sadder. Bieber is an incredibly talented individual, and if he hadn’t been a musician then a career on Saturday Night Live could have awaited, judging from his homemade videos poking fun at himself and his lifestyle. Follow him on TikTok and you’ll be surprised by just how lovable he really is.
The Rock (@therock)

If you don’t already know how hilarious The Rock can be, just check him out in 2016’s excellent Disney animation Moana, in which he plays a vain demigod named Maui. Heck, just take a look at some of his old WWE appearances and you’ll get the same impression. His TikTok channel continues that vein of irreverent, cheeky humour that makes him such a popular figure. Again, he’s not afraid to poke fun at himself and those around him in equal measure.
Suraj Pal Singh (@surajpalsingh964)

Don’t let the ominous three-number combo put you off. Suraj Pal Singh is the real deal on TikTok, not an imitator, and his skits are hilarious. They often feature his girlfriend Yashi Tank – who’s an excellent influencer in her own right and is just as talented a force of comedy as he is – and focus on dancing and lip-syncing challenges. Many TikTok accounts revolve around this type of content, but none of them execute it with the same sense of panache and self-deprecation as Suraj Pal Singh does.
Addison Rae (@addisonre)

While Addison Rae’s content may mainly focus on dance challenges (and she’s an absolutely excellent dancer), there’s an effervescent and bubbly sense of personality about her videos that means they’ve always got a twinkle in their eye, just like she does. Her bio is “follow me on instagram for a kiss”, and that’s her sense of humour; playful and sharp. Watch her content if you like to chuckle when you’re scrolling through your feed looking for new stuff to occupy your time.
